The MPRI is a statewide collaborative effort administered through a public and private partnership, including the Department of Corrections, Department of Labor and Economic Growth, Department of Community Health, Department of Human Services, Department of Education, Public Policy Associates, and the Michigan Council on Crime & Delinquency.Community
Every year over 11,000 inmates are released back into their communities–and the number of people being released has steadily increased. The MPRI was created to equip former prisoners with the tools they need to become valued members of the community upon their return. The MPRI offers a wide range of training and supervision, beginning with a person's entry into prison and continuing upon his or her release, to make neighborhoods safer by reducing the recidivism rates among former prisoners and by identifying housing and employment for people being released from prison.
Safe, Affordable, Accessible Housing
