    2009 MPRI State Legislative Briefing

On Thursday, January 22, about 70 legislators and their staff met in Lansing for a detailed briefing on the MPRI.  Hosted by State Representatives Alma Smith and John Proos, the event also attracted many local MPRI leaders who joined their legislators for lunch.  Many legislators who attended expressed support for the MPRI, as did a local prosecutor and sheriff who presented.  This briefing was the culmination of an education effort that targeted all House candidates this year.

    MPRI Evaluation Advisory Group Meeting

On April 29, 2008, Public Policy Associates, Inc., with the support of the JEHT Foundation, convened a national Evaluation Advisory Group to conduct a peer review of the evaluation and outcome tracking of the MPRI.  The group was comprised of nationally-renowned researchers, practitioners, and policy makers from Michigan and around the country.  As a result of the session, the Michigan Department of Corrections is examining carefully the opportunities for strengthening the approach to evaluation that emerged from the group.  The following documents were distributed at or prior to the meeting:

    MPRI Documents

    MPRI Issue Briefs

    MPRI Action Briefs
